Statesboro to Waynesboro was a fairly boring ride up Route 25 for most of the 52 miles. It seemed like it took twice as long as it should have. There were two interesting things that happened. Well, one and a half.
As I was scooting along on a wide bike lane, driver went ahead to find a lunch stop. A few minutes later a work truck pulled up in front of me and a guy got out. He walked up to me and handed me something as I pulled up. He he said what I was doing was amazing and to keep it up. He also said he’d heard of me as he got back into his car. Then he drove off.
Its a LifeLink card. He brought it to me just as I was getting bored and wondering to myself if this was worth it. I had just been thinking about how no one had registered (on my page at least) to be organ donors. He showed up at just the right time! I realized that even if people aren’t registering right now, people are noticing me and I will help more people the further I scoot.
A little further down, with a little pep in my scoot, I drove by a few ponds. I had never seen as many water lilies in one small pond in real life as I did then. Only in photos.
Tomorrow I head further up 25 to Augusta. There I will see an old doctor, a few old campers and maybe a little of Augusta National.
Until then…
Go Matt! Go! I believe in you. Your always strong and grateful. Love you man
