Travel day two was the total opposite of travel day one. I was dreading it a bit after Monday, but my attitude changed from the get go. I left early in the morning (8 is early for me) and the temp and weather were perfect. I learned my lesson. I might get up even earlier tomorrow! Huge thank you to an old (old) friend of mine who contacted the Coral Springs Police Department. I got a “police escort” from my hotel to the end of Coral Springs.
The officers were more then gracious to help and also took photos to post on their sites to promote my trip. Once I left Coral Springs, I stayed on Sample Road (where I used to bike around town) until I hit A1A. Then north.
The houses along the coast are amazing! I hope people saw me scooting by and want to help. When I went by Mar-A-Lago a cop caught up to me. He didn’t pull me over; he just wanted to warn me how bad the drivers are in the area.
After arriving at my uncle’s house (Thank you David), I rested about 10 minutes before I had to go get my news interview and footage. Now I’m really ready to rest and plan for tomorrow. Excited to see the news report and ramp up for tomorrow.
Until then…
What an honor to meet you, Matt!
