What a day! I started my trek on my Trike at 10am from South Beach Miami. The sidewalks are pretty poorly arranged and put together and busy on a Monday morning. The trip was 6.5 miles and only took a half hour to scoot. Great views of downtown Miami and the water. I’ll take those when I get more comfortable on the Trike.
I stopped by the Transplant Center and met the Director of the Kidney Clinic. She was very nice, but unfortunately no one from my day was there (it’s only been 33 years!). Media did not come through either, but I’m glad I went back and stopped by.
The 35 mile travel to Coral Springs was next. Went through a few different neighborhoods in north Miami and saw an iguana on the road, was chased by two dogs (they gave up after 100 yards) and got a lot of hellos and waves. No questions yet, but a lot of people saw my signs.
I am exhausted. It was hot. It was bumpy. It was long. I survived. I actually did it. The more I did it, the easier it will get. Tomorrow is a day of rest and organization. I will also meet with a reporter for a story about me, my trip and coming back to Coral Springs.
I’m going to get to sleep now!
Until tomorrow…
Go Matt????
You looked exhausted in your last post on Monday. Hope you are better today.
One day down, a journey to go!
Mattie! Have you posted this website on FB! And Instagram? I knew where to go, but everyone will want to follow your journey! Stay hydrated! Love you!
